Rectangular cross-section beams
Prestressed rectangular cross-section beams are used as deep beams when minimizing the beam height is important. They have a rectangular cross-section but can also have teeth along the long edge, producing an L- or even reverse T-shaped section. This means that the prestressed hollow core slab or double tee can be cut out at the desired height along its length to gain extra free space.
